Getting Off To A Good Start

  • Always supervise children under the age of five with a dog- never leave them alone together
  • Don't allow children to cuddle a dog face to face
  • Keep children and dogs apart in excitable environments such as parties.
  • Never pat a dog you don't know, especially one that is tethered (ie., outside a shop) as it may bite if it feels cornered.
  • Always ask permission from an owner before patting their dog.
  • When greeting a dog, extend the back of your hand for the dog to sniff.
