Know The Signs Of A Threatening Or Frightened Dog

A frightened dog:
  • Makes itself look smaller by crouching down
  • Has its ears back and its tail curled under its legs
  • Snarls, shows its teeth

A threatening dog:
  • Tail is raised
  • Tries to make itself look bigger by standing on the tips of its paws with hair on back (hackles) raised
  • Snarls, shows its teeth.

Note: if you see a dog that appears threatening or frightened, keep away.
